We, Wellspring of Life, on behalf of the children of #7, want to personally thank every person, family, child, church, and school that gave of their time, energy and resources to bring Christ and Christmas to 12 small children in San Pedro Sula, Honduras on December 25th. These children have been abandoned, abused, molested, witnessed their only parent being shot, and stripped of all self-worth. Their eyes lack hope; their lips are afraid to smile! Their days resemble the night, darkness and fear are their constant companions, causing them to feel alone and that no one cares for them. However, because of your generosity, loving hearts, and continued prayers it was possible for these beautiful children (aged 3-13) to have their only real Christmas ever. “The Reason for the Season” was our main focus and the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was shared throughout the week. Each child was given a school backpack stuffed to the brim with everything imaginable, plus warm clothing and pjs. We were also able to meet their most desperate need – FOOD- their pantry had only one can of peas and just a ½ bag of rice when we walked into the kitchen. Our pick-up truck brought in two loads of food that would last them for an entire month. On our first visit we learned the children could only get three drinks of water a day because they couldn’t reach the source. Today, with their new free-standing water cooler they can have all the water their little mouths desire! Thank you again! We feel this orphanage is a “Gift from God” and an opportunity to continue to sow life, hope, and Jesus into these 12 small souls…they are worth saving!!! But we need your help. We, Wellspring of Life Ministry, will be taking this orphanage and its’ 12 children on as a long term project…we feel as if God has given them to us for save-keeping, and it will be called #7 – The Widow’s Mite. We feel as if God is telling us to only ask for the “Widow’s Mite” (Luke 21: 1-4)…partners who will faithfully stand with us and give a ‘widow’s mite’ of just $10/month to care for these hungry and starved children. We can make a difference and God will multiply the ‘mite’ just as He did for the loaves and fishes! We need 800 saints to be our “Aarons & Hurs” Ex.17: 8-12 …it sounds impossible, but we believe this is God’s orphanage and He will bless our efforts, “…all things are possible through Christ Jesus…”(Phil. 4:13) Every cent of your $10 will go to these children to feed, clothe, and repair the unfinished building they call home…and to sow the hope of Jesus Christ into their lives. Pray, search your heart; please join us and then plan to go… “your arms” could hold one of these children! Share this letter with everyone you know and invite them to join us. P.S.
