Drill Training Center

In January of 2005 Wellspring of Life opened a drill training center located in scenic Bethpage, Tennessee. At our training center we can accomodate teams of 4-6 individuals at a time. The training sessions include housing, feeding, & training lasting 3-1/2 days. You will be trained in all aspects of drilling including: site location & preparation, the four positions of drilling, how to recognize when you've found water, well development, setting the pump, pouring a concrete pad, and development of a 'Village Water Committee'. In addition to the training you will be taking part in lively daily devotionals conducted on site. Whether you have a mission team planning to go out into the field or you are looking for a great spiritual weekend retreat, we would love for you to join us. The Training Center is operated by Mike & Debby Sawyer and is located on 16 acres of their property in Bethpage. Housing and meals are provided on site. • Here is a summary of their session:
"Our team which we call the Hickory Flat Wellspring of Life team, went to Bethpage, Tenn. To learn how we as Christ’s children could offer fresh drinking water as His living water to those who are dying from the contaminated water of their world. Christ placed this desire in our hearts, and thanks be to God, He also placed the fire in the hearts of Mike and Debby Sawyer and Rev. Bob Coder. We arrived at the home of the Sawyer’s at 11:45pm and met our hosts and teachers. We were to wake at 6:00am to begin our training, but we were awoken by Rev. Coder at 5am; he is an inspiring spiritual leader, but forgets to change his watch when entering different time zones. We decided later not to short sheet his bed or put shaving cream on his desert. Speaking of desert, Debby who provided our meals, is a wonderful cook; her meals alone make it a good retreat. Every morning we awoke with prayer and devotion. After breakfast we began our training. We learned all the aspects of drilling including: site location, preparation, the four positions of drilling, how to recognize when you've found water, well development, setting the pump, pouring a concrete pad, and the development of a Village Water Committee. There is prayer before performing all tasks. Prayer in site selection, and prayer for safety and success. In 3-½ days we learned to work as a team, never losing site of who is our Leader, the Lord Jesus Christ. On Sunday the last day, we attend church with Mike and Debby, to worship our Risen Lord, and rode home tired and inspired. How do you describe the feeling of joy in knowing you can serve the Lord and rescue the perishing."
